Cristina Rojas is a Distinguished Research Professor in Carleton University's Department of Political Science and former director of the Institute of Political Economy. Her research encompasses political ontology, indigeneity, peace studies, and citizenship, with her current SSHRC-funded project 'Territory Making as World Making' examining Indigenous-state conflicts in Bolivia and Paraguay.
Her scholarly work investigates decolonial approaches to international relations, ontological disputes over territory, and postcolonial critiques of development paradigms. Recent publications demonstrate interdisciplinary engagement spanning political theory, historical sociology, public health, and educational innovation.
Professor Rojas has received multiple honors including the Distinguished Fellow Award from the Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies (2019) and Eminent Scholar Award from the International Studies Association (2016).
