Cristina Mazzoni is the Wolfgang and Barbara Mieder Green & Gold Professor of Italian at the University of Vermont, affiliated with the School of World Languages and Cultures and the Program in French and Italian. She teaches courses spanning Italian language, European fairy tales, Food Culture, and Italian Literature and Film.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Yale University
Research interests include European Fairy Tales, Literature and Spirituality, Food Culture, and Italian Travel Literature. Her recent work explores the cultural history of oranges in Italy and European fairy tales.

- 2018 AAIS Book Prize for Golden Fruit
- 2012-2013 UVM University Scholar Award
- Multiple UVM grants and fellowships
- Mellon Fellowships (1986-1991)
