Professor Cristina Andenna holds the Chair of Medieval History at Saarland University. Her research focuses on medieval European history, with emphasis on Crusades, knightly orders, cultural-historical commentary, and the application of AI in historical research and teaching. She leads the Medieval History Chair, which includes projects like Regesta Imperii (documenting Emperor Henry VII's reign), Sorores (interdisciplinary medieval studies), and AI-DUETT (AI integration in historical methodologies).
Her team organizes regular colloquia on medieval history and interdisciplinary lecture series such as Medievalia. Recent projects include the Masterclass 'Digital Scholarly Editing' in collaboration with the Institute for Documentology and Editing, and excursions to historical sites like Speyer, Padua, and Bulgaria to study medieval myths and archival materials.
