معرفی
Cristiana Delprete is a Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS) at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where she has been actively teaching and conducting research for over two decades. She serves as a key faculty member across multiple academic programs and has been consistently involved with doctoral colleges since the 19th cycle (2003-2004).
Her research spans analytical and numerical methods, digital twin applications, dynamics of rotating systems, Industry 4.0 implementations, machine condition monitoring, mechanical design, MEMS, multiphysics modeling, smart materials, and structural dynamic design. She leads the ISED: Industrial Systems Engineering and Design research group and has been instrumental in developing predictive modeling approaches for machine design and loss minimization, industrial machine design and condition monitoring systems, intelligent materials and systems for industry applications, and rotor-bearing system reliability assessment.
Her recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on additive manufacturing applications, vibration and fatigue analysis, sustainable design methodologies, and digital twin implementations across mechanical and aerospace engineering domains. The research shows particular emphasis on copper-based metal matrix composites for space applications, circular design strategies for sustainable transportation, and advanced condition monitoring techniques for industrial machinery.
Delprete actively supervises numerous PhD students across multiple cycles and has been involved in diverse research projects ranging from predictive maintenance systems (PRIME project 2021-2022) to cylinder set strategy development (CSS project 2016-2019) and international student competitions like the TEAM POLICUMBENT project. She also holds a patent for a 'Connecting rod with innovative closure' developed with colleagues Emanuele Raviolo and Carlo Rosso.
Her teaching responsibilities include Machine Construction and Fundamentals of Structural Mechanics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, with consistent involvement in the Mechanical Engineering doctoral program. She is deeply engaged with Industry 4.0 initiatives and sustainable design practices, aligning her work with UN Sustainable Development Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
