معرفی
Craig Story is a Professor of Biology in the School of Science and Health at Gordon College, where he also serves as the Health Professions Advisor (Premed Advisor). His academic journey includes a B.S. from Gordon College, a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Brandeis University, and postdoctoral training at MIT and Harvard Medical School under Dr. Hidde L. Ploegh.
His research focuses on immunology and molecular biology, particularly the FcRn transporter protein that mediates IgG antibody transfer across the placenta and regulates albumin half-life. He has made significant contributions to understanding immune evasion by viruses like HIV and HCMV, and has advanced single-cell analysis techniques such as microengraving. His recent work includes collaborations with the Dougan Lab at Dana Farber Cancer Institute on sortase A and nanobodies, and imaging of pancreatic tumor metastases.
Craig Story is deeply engaged in bridging science and faith. He led a 'Pastors, Science and Faith' course funded by BioLogos, serves as a BioLogos Voice, and consults for the AAAS/DoSER 'Science for Seminaries' project. His publications span high-impact journals including PNAS, Nature Protocols, and PLoS One, with recent work featured in Christianity Today (2024). His research has been supported by grants from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Consortium and The BioLogos Foundation.
His scientific contributions reflect a strong interdisciplinary trajectory combining molecular immunology, protein engineering, and science communication. He has mentored students through research and pre-health advising, and continues to lead cutting-edge projects in cancer immunology and biotechnology.

Craig Story actively advises pre-health students, guiding them through applications to medical, dental, and PA programs. He has secured external funding to enhance laboratory infrastructure, including confocal microscopes and flow cytometers, to better prepare students for careers in medicine and biotechnology. His lab continues work initiated during sabbaticals at MIT and Dana Farber, maintaining collaborative ties with leading research institutions.
He has been involved in equipping Gordon College’s biology department with state-of-the-art instrumentation and has led initiatives to integrate modern science into theological education. His work with Dr. Jessica Ingram at Dana Farber, who passed away in 2018, led to the establishment of an annual lectureship in her honor.
