Craig Nichols is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Rhode Island since 2002. His academic focus centers on undergraduate education, with teaching areas spanning Introduction to Philosophy, Ethics, and Ancient Philosophy.

His research explores philosophy of religion, phenomenology, and the history of Western philosophy, with a focus on hermeneutics, metaphysics, and philosophical theology. Publications highlight themes like fundamentalism, transcendence, and divine presence, often engaging interdisciplinary dialogues.
Outside academia, he actively participates in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and the Rhode Island Philharmonic's music school, with a passion for classical guitar, Shakespeare, and Italian opera.
