Dr. Craig Menzemer serves as the Dean of the College of Engineering and Polymer Science at The University of Akron. Previously, he held roles such as Professor of Civil Engineering and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies within the same college. He has industry experience with Alcoa and United States Steel Corporation.
Education: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University (1992).
Research interests include steel wire reinforcement, structural systems for freight cars, fatigue behavior of joints, and material failure analysis. He teaches courses such as Statics, Mechanics of Solids, Advanced Steel Design, and Fracture Mechanics for Civil Engineering Applications.
A member of professional organizations including the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Welding Society, and Sigma Xi.
