Craig M Koslofsky

Craig M Koslofsky is a Professor of History and Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research focuses on early modern Europe (1400-1800), particularly the history of everyday life, human skin in the early modern era, and the interplay of religion, culture, and society. He holds affiliations with the European Union Center and the Program in Medieval Studies.

His research interests include the early Enlightenment, Reformation dynamics, and 17th-century social and cultural history. Notable work explores transatlantic slavery’s impact, the role of ghosts and demons in early modern thought, and debates around religious reform in German towns like Torgau.
