Craig Canapari, MD, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Sleep Medicine Program at Yale School of Medicine. His expertise spans pediatric sleep medicine, pulmonary disorders, and neuromuscular diseases. He holds board certifications in Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Canapari earned his BA in English from Yale University (1995) and MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine (2001). He completed residency at Massachusetts General Hospital (Pediatrics, 2004) and fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology (2007). His research focuses on sleep disorders in children, including obstructive sleep apnea, neuromuscular respiratory issues, and the intersection of sleep with metabolic and socioeconomic factors.
Recent work includes developing a smartphone app for sleep training and studying sleep disparities in low-income families. He collaborates with researchers like Monica Ordway and Nancy Redeker on sleep health equity and clinical practice improvements.
