Craig Campbell is a Departmental Lecturer in Practical Chemistry at the University of Oxford, where he leads the redesign of the practical course to emphasize skills development through a spiral curriculum approach. His work integrates interdisciplinary methods across chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. He holds lectureships at Queen’s College and St Hugh’s College, teaching organic chemistry and overseeing Part II research projects. Recognized for educational innovation, he won the 2020 Vice-Chancellor’s Education Award and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2022.
During the pandemic, he co-founded the #DryLabs network to support global science educators adapting to remote learning. His research focuses on chemical education challenges, including 3D thinking, acids/bases comprehension, and threshold concepts. He actively engages in outreach through workshops on 3D structure visualization and curcumin chemistry, collaborating with secondary schools and public engagement initiatives.
