Craig Burnside is a Research Professor of Economics at the University of Glasgow's Adam Smith Business School. He holds a BA (Hons) from the University of British Columbia (1985) and a PhD from Northwestern University (1991). His career includes roles at Duke University (2004–present), the University of Virginia (2002–2004), and the World Bank (1995–2002). He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
His research focuses on Macroeconomics, International Finance, Finance, and Econometrics, with notable contributions to currency crises, asset pricing, and housing market dynamics. His work often bridges theoretical models with empirical data, addressing puzzles like the forward premium puzzle and carry trade returns.
