Craig Arnold is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Segal Design Institute, part of the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University. He teaches MPD 430: Sustainability in the Product Design Process. His professional career spans over a decade in environmental impact analysis and sustainability, currently as a Carbon Expert at Watershed, Inc. Previously, he served as a Senior Environmental Design Engineer at Apple (2013–2021), focusing on reducing corporate carbon footprints through environmental design and lifecycle assessment.
Arnold holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on energy and sustainability from Northwestern University and a BS in Physics from the University of Michigan.
His research interests emphasize sustainability strategy, corporate environmental compliance, and innovative methods to integrate sustainability into product design processes. He is affiliated with the Segal Design Institute, which bridges design innovation with engineering and business solutions.
