Craig A. Ford, Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Saint Norbert College, where he co-directs the peace and justice interdisciplinary minor. He also teaches at Xavier University of Louisiana’s Institute for Black Catholic Studies. He holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, an M.A.R. from Yale Divinity School, and a Ph.D. from Boston College. His research focuses on intersections of queer theory, critical race theory, and Catholic moral tradition, with a current book project titled “Works of Art: Sexuality, Gender, Race and a New Theology of Embodiment” under contract with Fortress Press.

Dr. Ford’s work bridges academia and activism, with publications in Journal of Moral Theology, Commonweal Magazine, and National Catholic Reporter. He is a scholar-activist leading workshops on racial, sexual, and gender justice for institutions like the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU). He has received multiple awards, including the 2022 Catherine Mowry LaCugna Award for outstanding theological essay.
His grant-funded projects include an edited volume on future theology perspectives from queer Catholic theologians of color (Louisville Institute grant). He collaborates with the Institute for Black Catholic Studies and engages with parishes, universities, and professional bodies to advance justice initiatives.
