Courtney Shea Werner

Courtney Shea Werner is a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Arlington, affiliated with the College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI). She holds a Master of Science in Nursing (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) from UTA (2009) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2000) from the same institution. Her professional journey includes over 20 years of pediatric nursing experience, starting in neonatal intensive care, followed by roles in case management, emergency nursing, and pediatric primary care. Since 2011, she has been actively involved in teaching both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.

Her teaching focuses on Pediatric Nursing Assessment, Advanced Health Assessment, and Pediatric Primary Care. She has consistently taught courses like NURS 5220 (Advanced Health Assessment) and NURS 5130 (Pediatric Assessment Lab) across multiple semesters, demonstrating a commitment to clinical education. Her service roles include membership in the CONHI Scholarship Committee and clinical preceptorship in primary care pediatric settings.
