Courtney K. Cross

Professor Courtney Cross joined the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Fall 2023 as a Professor of Law and Director of the Survivor Representation & Advocacy Clinic. Her research focuses on the intersectionality of domestic violence, criminal law, poverty, and public health, with a particular emphasis on advocating for criminalized survivors.

Her scholarship has been published in leading law reviews, including the University of California – Davis Law Review and the Washington & Lee Law Review. She has also contributed to policy discussions on coercive control and HIV-related domestic violence issues through presentations at the University of California, Irvine and the Southern Nevada HIV Prevention Planning Group.

Notable awards include the Equal Justice Works/AmeriCorps Fellowship, and she has held leadership roles at the Association of American Law Schools’ Conferences on Clinical Legal Education.

Professor Cross previously directed the Domestic Violence Law Clinic at the University of Alabama School of Law and has taught at the University of Denver and Georgetown University.
