Courtney Fugate is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Florida State University. Her academic focus centers on Immanuel Kant, Kantian ethics, 17th/18th century German philosophy, and the history of science. She serves as an editor for works on Alexander Baumgarten and has contributed significantly to scholarship on Kant's metaphysics and aesthetic philosophy. Her research explores themes such as perfectionism, teleology in reason, and the philosophical foundations of moral and aesthetic judgment.
Notable publications include Baumgarten and Kant on the Foundations of Practical Philosophy (2024) and The Human Vocation in German Philosophy (2023). She has also edited volumes on Kant’s lectures on metaphysics and the works of Johann Nicolaus Tetens.
