Courtney Frederick is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Physiology at Yale School of Medicine. Her research focuses on synaptic structures in the retina, particularly investigating ribbon synapses and their roles in retinal diseases. She explores age-related changes in rod bipolar cell synapses and the molecular mechanisms underlying synaptic dysfunction. Her work also examines melanopsin ganglion cell phototransduction pathways and the structural requirements of synaptic ribbons for calcium channel recruitment.
- Primary Affiliation: Yale School of Medicine
