معرفی
Courtney Dressing is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on exoplanet detection and characterization, particularly around M dwarf stars, and assessing planetary habitability. She holds a PhD from Harvard University (2015) and completed postdoctoral work at Caltech and Harvard. Her expertise includes radial velocity techniques, transit observations, and planetary composition analysis.
Education: PhD in Astronomy & Astrophysics (Harvard, 2015), AM (Harvard, 2012), AB summa cum laude in Astrophysical Sciences (Princeton, 2010). Notable awards include the Hellman Fellowship (2019), Sloan Research Fellowship (2019), and NASA Sagan Fellowship (2015). She advises graduate students and leads research teams on missions like LUVOIR and TESS.
Research interests include planetary system demographics, rocky planet composition, and habitable zone dynamics. Her work leverages telescopes like Keck, TNG, and Spitzer to study exoplanet atmospheres and formation mechanisms. She serves on the Astro2020 Decadal Survey panel for exoplanets and astrobiology.
Grants include PI roles on K2 and TESS Guest Observer programs. Professional roles include LUVOIR Science Team membership and editorial roles at Astrobites. Over 60 refereed publications and 30+ invited talks highlight her contributions to exoplanet science.
