Dr Cory Messenger is a Lecturer at the School of Music, University of Queensland, where he serves as the Popular Music Minor Convenor. He holds a PhD in Film, Television and Digital Media from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Arts degree.

His research focuses on the intersections of popular music history, media studies, and cultural analysis, with an emphasis on record label operations and media archiving. His 2013 publication on Hollywood record labels explores the evolution of the music industry in the 1950s and 1960s, reflecting his interest in historical media analysis and cultural preservation.
Dr Messenger is currently available for supervision of students in music-related disciplines and contributes to academic and performance-oriented programs at the University of Queensland.
