Corinne Field

Corinne Field is an Associate Professor in the Department of Women, Gender & Sexuality at the University of Virginia. Her scholarship examines the political significance of chronological age and life stage in US history, with a focus on intersections of gender, race, and citizenship.

She has authored and co-edited influential works including The Struggle for Equal Adulthood (2014), Age in America (2015), and The Global History of Black Girlhood (2022). Her research contextualizes historical struggles for equality within evolving societal constructs of maturity and responsibility.
