Corey Jones

Corey Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University. He actively contributes to the academic community through research organization and leadership in quantum mathematics fields.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University (2016), supervised by Vaughan Jones

Research Focus: Dr. Jones specializes in tensor categories, mathematical physics, operator algebras, and higher categories. His work bridges abstract algebraic structures with quantum physical phenomena, particularly examining how these frameworks describe topological phases of matter and quantum symmetries. His research connects representation theory with operator algebra techniques to advance understanding of quantum systems.
