Corey E. Ventetuolo

Corey E. Ventetuolo is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Health Services, Policy, and Practice at Brown University. She serves as Associate Chief and Director of Academic Affairs for the Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Division, and directs the Center for Advanced Lung Care. Her research focuses on sexual dimorphism in pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), hormonal modulation therapies, and precision-based approaches using pulmonary artery endothelial cell biopsies. She leads the Adult ECMO Program at Brown University Health and investigates quality of care improvements for pulmonary hypertension and extracorporeal life support patients.

Education: MD from Tufts University (2003), MS from Columbia University (2011), and BA from University of Pennsylvania (1999).

Research emphasizes PAH pathophysiology, right ventricular function, and sex hormone influences. Over 80 publications span these areas, with recent work on ECMO outcomes, telemedicine applications for PAH monitoring, and retinal imaging biomarkers. NIH and AHA funding supports her studies on PAH endotyping and clinical trial design.

Leadership roles include co-directing the MESA-Right Ventricle Study and serving on NHLBI working groups. Her clinical expertise bridges critical care and precision medicine, with active involvement in pulmonary vascular disease management and academic affairs.
