Prof. Corey D. Ross is Director of the Institute for European Global Studies and Professor of European Global Studies at the Universität Basel. His research focuses on global environmental history, imperialism, and the socio-ecological dimensions of transnational interactions. Ross has held leadership roles including Deputy Head of the College of Arts and Law at the University of Birmingham. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and has received prestigious awards like the George Louis Beer Prize. His recent book Liquid Empire explores colonial water governance, while his current work examines Anthropocene dynamics and colonial legacies in environmental policy. Ross advises PhD students on topics like commodity frontiers and global mobilities.
