Dr. Cordelia Bolle serves as a Staff Scientist and Akademische Oberrätin at the Plant Sciences Department within LMU Munich's Faculty of Biology since 2007. Her academic foundation includes a habilitation in Botany (2003), PhD (1995), and Diplomarbeit (1990-1991) all from LMU München, preceded by biology studies at LMU (1986-1991) and University of Innsbruck (1984-1986).
Her research specializes in light-dependent signal transduction mechanisms in plants, with concentrated expertise in phytochrome A signaling pathways. Using Arabidopsis thaliana as a model system, she investigates GRAS protein functions, genetic redundancy phenomena, and molecular triggers of plant senescence. Her experimental approaches integrate genetic mutant analysis, protein interaction studies, and photoreceptor characterization under varying light conditions.
Publication trends from 2004-2015 reveal consistent focus on photoreceptor signaling mechanisms, particularly how plants perceive and transduce low-light signals through specialized protein complexes. Her work bridges molecular genetics with physiological responses, emphasizing evolutionary adaptations in light-sensing pathways and functional compensation in redundant gene networks.
Dr. Bolle contributes to departmental operations as Safety Commissioner (BBS) and AK Praktika committee member while teaching Bachelor and Master courses including Plant Sciences III lectures. She conducts research within Professor Leister's working group, maintaining active laboratory operations in Martinsried.
