Corbett A. Graigner

Corbett A. Grainger serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, specializing in environmental and resource economics. He maintains dual institutional affiliations as a faculty affiliate (Professor II) at the Center for Climate and Energy Transformation, University of Bergen, Norway, and as a CESifo Research Network Fellow. In September 2021, he conducted research as a Visiting Researcher at CESifo.

His educational foundation includes a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, complemented by degrees from the University of Minnesota and Concordia College.

Professor Grainger's research critically examines the intersection of economic policy and environmental outcomes. Key focus areas include distributional impacts of environmental regulations across demographic groups, political economy drivers of policy formation, and rights-based management systems in marine fisheries. His innovative 2021 India study combined mobile phone mobility data with satellite pollution measurements to quantify transportation's impact on atmospheric NOx concentrations.

As Co-Editor of Land Economics, he shapes scholarly discourse in resource economics while maintaining active partnerships with international development institutions including the World Bank.
