Cora Megan is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) at the University of Connecticut Stamford Campus. She specializes in early childhood development, education, and parenting. Her career began at UConn’s Hartt School of Music before transitioning to HDFS, where she earned an early childhood specialization in 2010. She holds a Master’s degree in HDFS from UConn (2018), completed while working full-time as a director at The Nest, an early learning center affiliated with Yale.
Her research and professional focus centers on nurturing children’s social-emotional development, parent-child relationships, and infant mental health. She is a registered Circle of Security Facilitator and has presented at the World Association of Infant Mental Health. Cora has taught child development courses at UConn Stamford as an adjunct faculty member for two years before transitioning to a full-time role. She also serves as a parent educator for Peace at Home Parenting Solutions, offering webinars and consulting.
Cora’s career emphasizes mentorship, having mentored students and staff at early learning centers like Alphabet Academy and The Nest. She has played key roles in launching new campuses, including The Nest’s Yale-affiliated site and a Branford location. Her work aligns with the mission of fostering authentic child development through supportive environments.
