Constanza Alarcón Tennen is a **Part-Time Lecturer** in the Department of Sculpture at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University. Her teaching focuses on sculpture and interdisciplinary practices. She holds a BFA from Universidad Católica de Chile (2015) and an MFA in Sculpture from Yale University (2015).
Her artistic research explores transmaterial dialogues, fluidity, and the intersection of emotions with environmental and cultural landscapes. Key themes include subjective memory, post-disaster experiences (e.g., earthquakes), and the blurring boundaries between human and non-human entities. She works across sculpture, sound installations, video, and performance, emphasizing hybridity and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Alarcón Tennen has participated in international residencies at institutions such as Delfina Foundation (London), B.A.S.E Tsonami (Valparaíso), and the Bronx Museum’s AIM program. Her work has been exhibited globally, including at Patricia Ready Gallery (Santiago), El Dorado (Bogotá), and the XIII New Media Biennial (Chile). She recently completed a residency and exhibition at Künstlerforum Bonn and published her first poetry compilation as an artist’s book with Otra Sinceridad press.
Outside of art-making, she engages in translation and curatorial projects, further emphasizing her commitment to interdisciplinary practice and cultural exchange.
