Constantin Blome is an Honorary Professor and Academic Dean at Lancaster University Leipzig. He holds roles as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management and part-time Kronos Group Endowed Chair at UCLouvain/CORE. His research focuses on supply chain management, procurement, and operations management with emphases on sustainability, innovation, and risk. He has received Clarivate's Highly Cited Researcher Award (2020–2021) and secured over €5 million in research funding, primarily industry-focused. Previously, he served as Associate Dean of Research at the University of Sussex Business School and GlaxoSmithKline Chaired Professor at UCLouvain. Blome is also a co-owner and board member of companies n-side and Procurence.
Education and Qualifications: Habilitation from EBS Business School, C.P.M. and CPSM certifications. Research Grants: Includes LOEWE funding, DFG grants, and ESRC/ESPRC funding. Keynote engagements span global conferences, and he has examined numerous PhDs across institutions like the University of Sussex and EBS Business School.
His work integrates empirical studies on supply chain resilience, sustainability, and digital transformation, with recent trends emphasizing geopolitical disruptions and humanitarian supply chains. A narrative on advising highlights over 10 supervised PhDs, many advancing to academic and corporate leadership roles. Blome leads the Supply Chain Research project at Lancaster University Leipzig, focusing on contemporary challenges in global supply networks.
