Dr. Conor Galvin is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Doctorate in Education (PhD Education) Programme at University College Dublin (UCD)'s School of Education within the College of Social Sciences and Law. He also oversees the MA Education Programme and previously served as Director of the College of Human Sciences Graduate School (2012–2014). His roles include leading EU-funded projects such as TAP-TS (sustainability education) and JMTEP-UCD (European values in secondary education). He holds The President's Teaching Award (2002) and has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge.
Dr. Galvin holds a BA/MA from the University of Canterbury and MPhil/PhD from the University of Cambridge. He is fluent in English, Irish, and French. His research focuses on sustainability education, technology-enhanced learning, development policy, and teacher education reform. He contributes to global initiatives like the EU Working Group on Learning for Sustainability and has evaluated projects such as the Diageo Liberties Learning Initiative and EU's DigEuLit.
His teaching spans modules on development education, research methods, and critical policy analysis. He frequently guest lectures at institutions like Trinity College Dublin and National College of Art and Design. He has served on national advisory councils for PISA and TIMSS in Ireland and led the Global Classroom strand of the UCD-Trinity Masters in Development Practice (2009–2017).
