Connie Wolfe is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Associate Director of Africana Studies at Muhlenberg College. Her work focuses on racism, social justice education, and qualitative research methods. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, an M.A. from the University at Buffalo, and a B.A. from Ohio University.
Her research emphasizes student experiences of color in PWIs (Predominantly White Institutions), challenging traditional survey-based approaches by incorporating in-depth interviews to contextualize lived experiences. A secondary focus examines how white individuals' racial identity frameworks influence their understanding of diversity and inclusion, particularly around 'colorblind' ideologies.
She teaches courses like Contemporary Racism, Social Psychology, and Research Methods, emphasizing cultural humility and anti-racism. Wolfe has received the Paul C. Empie Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching (2017), recognizing her innovative pedagogical approaches.
Her lab collaborates with undergraduates on projects like the 'Mattering at Muhlenberg' initiative and studies on BIPOC student experiences. While grants are not explicitly listed, her work consistently engages ethical data collection practices with marginalized communities.
