Connie Shoemaker

Connie Shoemaker is an adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Arts, Languages & Philosophy, focusing on visual arts education. She actively contributes to arts education advocacy through roles in professional organizations and curriculum development.

Education:

• 2022 – Ed.S. in Education, Northwest Missouri State University
• 2003 – M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction (Creative Arts in Learning), Lesley University
• 1993 – B.S. in Education, University of Central Missouri

Her research and professional interests span innovative teaching methods in the arts, curriculum design, and policy advocacy. She has received numerous awards for her contributions, including the Western Region Art Educator of the Year and recognition at state and national levels.

Shoemaker has served on key committees such as the Missouri Alliance for Arts Education and contributed to updating Missouri’s Learning Standards for the Arts.
