Connie L. Petersen

Connie L. Petersen is an Artistic Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre at Marquette University's Diederich College of Communication. Her expertise spans Costume Technology and Design across Theatre, Dance, Film, and Opera. She holds an MFA in Costume and Scenic Design from Southern Illinois University (2000), a BS in Theatre with a Technical and Design Minor from Northwest Missouri State University (1996), and attended Imperial College in London (1992).

She teaches courses such as Stage Makeup, Basic Costume Construction, and Advanced Costume Techniques. Petersen has extensive professional experience with institutions like Disney Film Production, Central City Opera, and the Denver Center Theatre Company, alongside affiliations with USITT and SETC. Her commitment to teaching emphasizes communication, creativity, and societal contribution through artistic practice.
