Connie Rodriguez is a part-time Lecturer in the iSchool at San José State University, teaching in both the MARA (Masters in Archives and Records Administration) and Informatics programs. She has been an instructor since Fall 2020 for MARA and Spring 2024 for Informatics, contributing her extensive industry expertise to courses on electronic records, information governance, digital data management, and archival seminars.
Her educational background includes a Master's in Archives and Records Administration (MARA) from San José State University and a B.A. in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino. She has maintained a long-standing professional affiliation with ARMA International, serving in various leadership roles including President, Vice President, Education Program Director, and currently as Chapter Treasurer for the Southern California Inland Empire (SCIE) Chapter. She has also served on the MARA Program Advisory Committee since 2011.
Her research and teaching interests center on records and information management, with strong emphasis on electronic records, information policy, information systems, digital libraries, metadata, and organizational information practices. These interests are reflected in both her academic instruction and her professional work.
Connie has built a distinguished 27-year career at Ernst & Young, LLP, one of the Big 4 accounting firms, where she has served as a Program Manager in the US Records & Information Management enterprise-wide organization since 2005. In this role, she advises on compliance, risk mitigation, policy development, records retention, training, and technical guidelines for managing records in all formats across the firm. Her work involves analyzing systems, improving procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance information governance at a national level.
