Dr. Collette Lemieux is an Assistant Professor of Statistics and Analytics at the Bissett School of Business, Mount Royal University. She has held roles including Interim Director of the Mokakiiks Centre for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (2021-22), Chair of the organizing committee for the 2021 Forum for Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and MRFA department liaison (2021–2022, 2024–ongoing). She received a Teaching and Learning Enhancement Grant (2022-23) and led the development of the Minor in Data Analytics program.
Dr. Lemieux holds a PhD in Educational Research (University of Calgary), MSc in Mathematics (University of Calgary), BSc in Mathematics (McGill University), and BEd in Secondary Education (University of Calgary). Her teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive, collaborative, and relevant course design across disciplines, including Science & Technology, Teaching and Learning, and Business.
Her research focuses on statistics and mathematics education within the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Key themes include story-based pedagogy for enhancing statistical understanding, modernizing business analytics curricula, and exploring digital game-based learning in mathematics education. Her work bridges educational theory and practice, addressing challenges in student engagement and conceptual mastery.
Her research outputs span topics like postsecondary students’ statistical reasoning, calculus assessment strategies, and the role of digital games in teacher training. She actively contributes to academic discourse through peer-reviewed publications and institutional leadership roles.
