Colleen Sharen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management & Organizational Studies at Western University. She holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and is an Ed.D Candidate at the University of Calgary, with additional qualifications in Political Science and Social Research. Her research focuses on leadership development, nonprofit strategy, and innovative pedagogical approaches in management education.
Sharen has extensive industry experience as a marketing executive at Canada Bread, Kraft Canada, and General Mills Canada, bringing practical insights into her academic work. She is a recipient of multiple teaching awards including the Brescia University College Excellence in Teaching Award (2015–2019) and the Curtis E. Tate Jr. Award for best case publication (2017). Her scholarly contributions emphasize gender representation in business cases, leadership identity development, and collaborative case methodologies.
Active in professional communities, she serves on the editorial board of the Case Research Journal and is affiliated with organizations like the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada and the North American Case Research Association. Her work bridges academic research with practical business challenges, particularly in social innovation and women’s leadership.
