Colleen M. Culley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy and Therapeutics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy. She holds a PharmD and BS in Pharmacy from Butler University, with a French minor. Her professional background includes a Specialty Residency in Drug Information at the University of Kansas Medical Center and Hoechst Marion Roussel (sanofi), and 19 years in clinical services at UPMC, focusing on drug information, formulary management, and patient safety. She is Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy.
Dr. Culley’s expertise spans drug information evaluation, biomedical literature analysis, and pharmacy education. She contributed to quality improvement initiatives recognized by UPMC’s Quality and Innovation Fair, receiving multiple awards. Currently, she collaborates on medication monitoring systems to improve adverse event detection in healthcare settings. She serves on editorial boards for Clin-Alert and the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, and is active in professional organizations like ASHP and AACP.
Her educational efforts emphasize drug information skills and literature presentation in the University of Pittsburgh’s PharmD curriculum. Professional accolades include the President’s Performance Award (2003, 2008) and the 2008 Quality Cup.
