Colleen Arnold

Colleen Arnold is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work, The University of Texas at Austin since 2018. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a board-approved clinical supervisor. Her career spans over two decades in clinical practice, school social work, and program development.

Education: MS in Social Work (University of Texas at Austin); BS in Criminal Justice – Corrections (Southwest Texas State University).

Research interests focus on clinical interventions for adolescents with co-occurring disorders, chemical dependency counseling in correctional and school settings, and ethical advocacy in social work. She has developed residential programs for female populations and trained staff in juvenile probation systems. Her work emphasizes crisis intervention, family dynamics, and systemic support for underserved youth.

Awards include recognition through her nomination for Texas School Social Worker of the Year (2015). She has supervised over 50 interns across multiple universities and coordinated impactful programs like free college tours for homeless students. Colleen is active in professional committees and has presented at state conferences on advocacy and ethics.
