Dr. Colin Zhang is a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University's Department of Actuarial Studies and Business Analytics. He holds a B.Com (Actuarial Studies), B.Com (First Class Honours in Actuarial Studies), and a PhD in Applied Finance and Actuarial Studies, all from Macquarie University.
His research focuses on life cycle models, optimal control, financial strategy, and derivative pricing. Key areas include insurance demand analysis, retirement planning, and aged care economics. Recent work addresses topics like hyperbolic discounting in annuity demand, tornado loss trends, and machine learning applications in aged care duration modeling.
Dr. Zhang has been awarded the Adobe Innovation Grants (2021) and the MQBS Research Impact Award (2022). He has contributed to teaching innovations, including AI-driven assessment tools and augmented reality in commerce education.
