Colin Perkins

Colin Perkins is a Professor in the School of Computing Science at the University of Glasgow. He is actively involved in Internet research, serving as a former Chair of the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) and an ex-officio member of the Internet Architecture Board (IAB). His career spans roles at the University of Southern California and University College London, with academic training in Electronic Engineering and Computing from the University of York.

His research focuses on Internet technologies, particularly transport protocols for real-time multimedia and improving Internet protocol design and standardization. Recent work includes contributions to quality management in name-based networks and Internet governance frameworks.
