Dr. Colin Magee is an Adjunct Professor at Queen's University and serves as Senior Evaluator and Concepts and Doctrine Developer at the Dallaire Centre of Excellence for Peace and Security (part of the Canadian Defence Academy). He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Canadian Armed Forces in 2020 after nearly four decades of service, combining military command, staff roles, concept development, and teaching in civilian and professional military educational institutions. His expertise spans leadership, ethics, strategic planning, and civil-military relations in complex environments.

- PhD in Management (Organizational Leadership in Complex Environments) from the University of Guelph
- Master’s in War Studies (Royal Military College of Canada)
- Master’s of Military Arts and Sciences (US Army Command and General Staff College)
- Teaching: Taught at Canadian Forces College, US Army Command and General Staff College, and Australian Command and Staff College on topics like strategic planning, military professionalism, and defense policy.
- Experience: Operational deployments to Cyprus, Somalia, and Afghanistan; served with NATO, US Army, Australian Defence Force, and as Deputy Military Advisor at Canada’s UN Mission.
His research focuses on adapting defense and security frameworks to evolving global challenges, including gender diversity impacts, ethics, and civil-military collaboration. He has co-authored policy documents and academic works for Canadian, American, Australian, and UN institutions.
