- PhD, University of Pennsylvania (2008-2013)
- MD, Yale School of Medicine (1998-2003)
- BS, Yale University (1993-1997)
Dr. Greineder's research focuses on pulmonary embolism management, cardiovascular therapeutics, and innovative drug delivery systems. His work in emergency medicine addresses critical gaps in the outpatient management of low-risk pulmonary embolism and opioid use disorder interventions. In pharmacology, he pioneers novel approaches for brain and bone-targeted drug delivery using bispecific antibodies and engineered nanoparticles. His interdisciplinary research bridges emergency medicine, pharmacology, and biomedical engineering to develop targeted therapies for neurological conditions, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular diseases.
Analysis of Dr. Greineder's recent publications reveals a strong focus on pulmonary embolism management and diagnostic innovation. His work combines clinical emergency medicine with cutting-edge technology, particularly in AI applications for medical imaging and clinical decision support. A significant portion of his research involves developing targeted drug delivery systems, especially bispecific antibodies for brain and bone delivery. His publications demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach that bridges emergency medicine, pharmacology, and biomedical engineering to address critical healthcare challenges.
Dr. Greineder serves as Vice Chair of the Grants Committee and actively mentors graduate students and residents in the Emergency Medicine department. His current mentees include Amani Djouadi, Erika Ruskie, Maia Dinsmore, Ashley Cohen, and W Benton Swanson. His extensive NIH and DoD-funded research portfolio includes projects on non-invasive CNS delivery systems, bone-targeted therapeutics, and emergency department interventions for pulmonary embolism management.
Dr. Greineder leads multiple research teams focused on drug delivery systems and emergency medicine interventions. His laboratory work centers on developing bispecific antibodies for brain and bone targeting, with applications in neurodegenerative diseases and osteoporosis. The Weil Institute for Critical Care Research provides infrastructure for his emergency medicine clinical studies, while the Biointerfaces Institute supports his nanomedicine research. His collaborative approach spans departments and institutions, with numerous multi-center clinical trials in pulmonary embolism management.
