Colin Eddie is a Professor at the School of Engineering, University of Warwick, specializing in tunnelling and underground space. He holds the Royal Academy Visiting Professor of Innovation and Tunnelling title. With 38 years of industry experience, he has contributed to major projects across £2.5bn of tunnelling work and pioneered safety and efficiency improvements. He leads the MSc in Tunnelling and Underground Space at Warwick, serving on its Industrial Advisory Panel and teaching construction methods.
Research interests include tunnelling methodologies, advanced materials, geotechnics, infrastructure procurement, and risk management. He advocates for integrated design-construction processes, emphasizing 'Safe by Design' practices. His consultancy work and academic roles bridge industry and academia, fostering innovation.
