Colin Davidson

Colin Davidson is a Professor and Head of the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. His research focuses on neuropharmacology, particularly drug abuse mechanisms, legal highs, and their effects on neurotransmitter release. He has also contributed to stroke research via pre-ischaemic conditioning studies and developed pharmacotherapies for stimulant abuse. His PhD explored antidepressants and serotonin efflux mechanisms.

• Development of novel treatments for stimulant addiction
• Neuroprotective strategies in stroke through pre-ischaemic conditioning
• Neurochemical mechanisms of antidepressant action
