Colin Allen is Distinguished Professor in the Department of Philosophy at UC Santa Barbara, specializing in philosophy of cognitive science, animal minds, and machine ethics. His research bridges philosophical analysis with empirical studies of cognition in non-human animals and artificial systems. Current investigations focus on consciousness studies, evolutionary cognition, and ethical frameworks for autonomous systems.
