Colette Salyk is an Associate Professor of Astronomy at Vassar College, holding the Maria Mitchell Chair. She teaches courses in planetary science, observational astronomy, and space science. Her research focuses on planet formation using ground- and space-based telescopes to study protoplanetary disk properties and chemical composition.
Research Interests: Planetary science, observational astronomy, extrasolar planets, protoplanetary disk chemistry, and infrared spectroscopy.
Grants & Media: Secured funding from Space Telescope Science Institute for James Webb Space Telescope observations. Featured in Space.com, Newsweek, and NASA announcements for discoveries in planet formation.
