Clint Miller is an Assistant Professor of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia, with secondary appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. He leads the Miller Lab at the Center for Public Health Genomics, focusing on genetic and environmental risk factors for coronary artery disease using multi-omics profiling and perturbation studies.
- PhD in Pharmacology, University of Rochester (2011)
- Postdoc in Human Genetics and Genomics, Stanford University
- Joined UVA in 2017
His research integrates computational genomics, vascular biology, and systems pharmacology to identify causal regulatory networks in cardiovascular disease. Recent publications highlight work on:
- Single-cell transcriptomics for sex differences in carotid plaques
- TCF21 gene regulation in coronary disease
- Epigenetic mechanisms in vascular calcification
- Gene-environment interactions in lipid metabolism
Awards include:
- NIH Pathway to Independence Award
- AHA Young Investigator Award
- EAS Young Investigator Fellowship
- TEDMED Front Line Scholar
- AHA Fellowship
Lab members include graduate students Patrick, Sasha, and Jose V. Mosquera. Recent projects explore the 9p21.3 locus, PRDM16 regulation, and novel FNDC1-NAMPT-NAD axis in vascular disease.
