Clint Dawson

Clint Dawson serves as Department Chair and Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering & Engineering Mechanics at The University of Texas at Austin, holding the John J. McKetta Centennial Energy Chair in Engineering and directing the Computational Hydraulics Group at the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences.

Research Interests: Dr. Dawson's work centers on Computational Mechanics and Partial Differential Equations, with deep expertise in Numerical Analysis, Numerical Methods, and Parallel Computing. His research delivers critical applications in Flow in Porous Media, Shallow Water Systems, and coastal modeling, culminating in a globally deployed simulation code for hurricane storm surge prediction that earned the 2024 UT President's Research Impact Award.
