Clemens Trautwein

Clemens Trautwein is a Researcher and Subject Specialist Librarian at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture Library (HSLU), focusing on Open Science and Research Data Management (RDM). He leads the RDM services at HSLU's Open Science team and advises researchers on Open Access publishing and data management strategies. His professional expertise includes project management in freshwater ecology research, spatial analysis, and statistics.

Education: Dr. nat. techn. in Environmental Engineering (2013, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna) and a Diplom in Landscape Planning and Management (2007). He has published as lead author on topics ranging from river restoration modeling to open science policy frameworks, and mentored students in academic publishing and research methodologies.

• Multi-scale environmental impact analysis

Current Initiatives: Leading the GOAL project to establish institutional Open Access policies through collaborative human-machine frameworks. Active in developing FDM services, metadata enrichment strategies, and sustainable knowledge dissemination practices.

Labs/Teams: Core member of HSLU's Open Science team and part of the ZHB Luzern library network. Previously worked on EU-funded water resources projects analyzing biodiversity impacts of hydropower and land use changes.
