Claudius Hille is a Researcher at the Department of Musicology (Musikwissenschaftliches Institut) at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. He holds a Master of Music (Kontrabass) and a Master of Arts in Musicology. His research focuses on early modern European music culture, particularly bath and spa music of the 17th-18th centuries, and the operas of Engelbert Humperdinck. Since 2023, he leads Project A04 'Bade- und Kurmusik' within the SFB 1391 'Andere Ästhetik' research consortium.

Research interests include cultural history of early modern music institutions, transnational dimensions of European musical traditions, and material culture of historical performance practices. His work bridges musicology with historical sociology and spatial studies. Current projects examine the intersection of health tourism and musical entertainment in European spa towns.
He co-organizes the Tübingen Young Scholars Symposium in Musicology and contributes to international conferences on topics like early modern drinking songs and Wagner's reception of antiquity. His editorial work includes preparing correspondence between Robert Misch and Engelbert Humperdinck, and compiling university music collections.
