Claudio Zara is a Tenured Researcher and Adjunct Professor in Financial Markets and Institutions at Bocconi University. He serves on the Managing Committee of the GREEN Research Centre and represents Bocconi in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. His research focuses on Sustainable Finance, particularly the Circular Economy, Venture Capital, and Corporate Banking. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Bocconi (1989) and has been a Visiting Fellow at Warwick Business School (1994) and National University of Singapore (1997). He also participated in the London Business School’s ITP program (1996).
His teaching includes courses like Finance for the Green Business and the Circular Economy, Venture and Development Capital, and Fundamentals of Corporate Finance. Research interests span Sustainable Finance, Circular Economy resilience, and financial strategies for technology-based firms. His work explores climate risk mitigation in industries like wine production and de-risking strategies for sustainable investments.
Key publications include analyses on Circular Economy impacts on stock volatility (2021), weather derivatives in agriculture (2008), and SME-bank relationships (2001). Collaborations with institutions like the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and Intesa Sanpaolo highlight his focus on translating research into practical financial strategies.
